Edit the opening balance of an account

Non-investment accounts

Open the account you want to use by clicking the name on the account bar.
Find the earliest transaction in the register. This is easiest to find if you sort your transactions by Date.
Click the Deposit field, change the amount, and then click Save.

Click Edit, use the investment transaction dialog to change the opening amount, and then click Enter/Done.
