Resolve security comparison mismatch
There might be instances when the holdings in Quicken do not match the holdings that were downloaded from your financial institution. Quicken shows a mismatch when the number of shares for a security, as reported by the financial institution, do not match what is currently in Quicken. The following scenarios can cause a mismatch:
- The share balance received from your financial institution changed, but no new transactions were downloaded.
- The share balance received from your financial institution did not change, but new transactions were downloaded.
- The share balance received from your financial institution did not change, but one or more transactions were deleted from Quicken.
- A previously balanced transaction has been edited.
- A new or modified transaction is detected.
- You missed some transactions because you did not update regularly. Most brokerages limit the history that Quicken is allowed to download.
To resolve the mismatch and create a placeholder entry, click Create a placeholder entry for the difference, and then click OK. If you are not sure about the mismatch and you do not want to take any action, click Ignore for now, and then click OK.
