Invoice taxable items to tax-exempt customers

At times, you may have to temporarily change a taxable item into a nontaxable item when selling to a tax-exempt customer, such as a charitable organization.

You can do this in Quicken by changing the item's taxable status on the invoice: delete the T in the Tax column. The item's tax status changes to nontaxable on that invoice. (It remains taxable for other invoices.)

You can enter the customer's Tax exemption ID in the transaction memo for future reference.
