Open an existing Quicken data file
- About opening files
When you start Quicken, it opens the last data file you used. You can work with only one data file at a time. To work with a different data file during a single Quicken session, just open it. Quicken closes all the open Quicken dialogs associated with the current data file for you.
- Choose File menu > Open Quicken File.
- What happens now?
Quicken displays the folder containing the current data file (the Quicken folder by default). If you need help determining where another data file is, Quicken can help you find a file.
Don't open data files in the BACKUP folder. They need to be restored, and they may not contain current information.
- Select the file you want to open, or enter the name of the file in the File name field.
- Click OK.
Notes
If you have trouble opening your Quicken data file, there are a number of things you can try.
