Deleting data files

You can delete Quicken data files just as you delete any other files.

To delete a data file

  1. Quit the Quicken application.
  2. Go to the data file location and drag the file to the Trash (at the end of the Dock). If you have trouble locating your Quicken data file, refer to this help topic .
    • This data file will remain in the Trash until you empty the Trash. If you change your mind before you have emptied the Trash and want your data file back, you can retrieve it. Click the Trash icon and drag the file back to your home folder.
  3. If you are sure that you do not want your file back at all, you can permanently delete it. Go to Finder > Empty Trash. The file will be permanently deleted from your computer.
