Quicken is asking you to confirm that you want to create a new renaming rule. A renaming rule has two parts: the text that Quicken will search for when a transaction is downloaded, and the payee name Quicken will replace that text with when it's found.
Here's what to do:
...
- Look in the Renaming Rule area of the dialog.
- Does the text in the If the downloaded payee name contains this text field accurately represent what you want to search for?
...
The text in this field was downloaded directly from your financial institution. It may be all, or just a portion of the downloaded text.
The complete text of what was downloaded from your financial institution is displayed in the bottom half of the bottom half of the Create Payee Renaming Rule dialog.
- Does the text in the Replace with this name field look right? (It should, this is the text that you entered in the register.)
- If everything looks good and you want to create the rule: click OK.
- If you would like to change the "payee name contains" text: click Edit Custom Rule.
- If you don't want to create the rule: click Cancel.
